About Tags
What Are Tags and What Are They Used For?
Tags are used to categorize and search for articles on the site. Adding accurate tags to your articles makes it easier for readers to find content they are interested in, while also helping with site management and archiving. You can browse the Tag Cloud. You can also click any tag to find all pages containing that tag, which is…
Where Are These Tags Located?
Scroll down to the bottom of any page. Below a small divider line, you will see a series of small golden-colored words or phrases. These are tags. You can click any of them to view all pages containing that tag. If there are no tags, the page likely has not been tagged yet.
What Tags Are Available?
This guide provides detailed explanations of all currently available tags and their usage rules. Some tags have overlapping scopes, while others can substitute for one another. Therefore, please consider carefully when adding tags.
How Do I Add Tags to a Page?
For translated works, you must first add at least "翻译" ("Translation"), "搬运" ("Imported Work"), and one Main Tag.
For Chinese original works, you must first add at least "原创" ("Original") and one Main Tag.
The purpose of main tags is to distinguish the type of page. For other tags that mark specific themes or content elements, please refer to the tag list below.
Specific steps:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Tags";
- Enter the correct tags in the text box, separated by spaces;
- Click "Save Tags".
If you are unsure which tags to add, please ask the staff for assistance. Do not add any tags not explained in this guide, and do not modify staff-only tags. For management convenience, all tags use Simplified Chinese characters. Users of Traditional Chinese should take care not to accidentally use Traditional Chinese tags.
I Want to Propose a New Tag!
If you wish to propose a new Chinese original tag, please submit it in the Tag Application Discussion Thread, including the pages that require this tag and a brief description of the tag.
Original-related Group of Interest or Setting tags must come from at least three qualified works created by three different authors.1
Please note that the following tag categories represent only the primary categories currently used by the site. They may expand or shrink as the site develops. Please refer to the latest announcements for the most up-to-date information.
Main Tag Categories
Every page on the Wiki should have at least one tag.
theme - Can be added to format/theme pages.
goi - Can be added if a work features another GoI.
hub - Can be added when a page functions as a hub page.
guide - Writing guides, rule explanations, or other pages intended to help community members contribute to the site. The "Guide" tag must be approved by staff before it can be added.
component - Pages under the component category, used for constructing various types of pages.
fragment - Pages under the fragment category, generally used for constructing specific pages.
Tag Usage Guidelines:
- Accuracy First: Choose tags that best match the core style of the story. Do not abuse unrelated tags simply to increase visibility.
- Avoid Tag Overload: Do not stack every possible tag onto a page. This can confuse readers.
- Staff May Modify Tags: If tags are found to be severely misused, moderators or administrators may correct them directly and may notify the author through site messages.
If you are unsure which tags to use, you may politely ask other members in the discussion section or relevant writing help threads, or refer to the tag choices of popular articles with similar styles.
There are of course additional tags, but due to ongoing site development, they are not listed here.
