Guides For Staff

This guide was written by former Parawatch Wiki Chinese administrator unknownpersonalunknownpersonal (May 1, 2026 – present), and is primarily intended for site staff, including the author themselves (a general term referring to administrators and moderators).

Rule Zero: Don't Be a Dick

This is the most important rule of this site. Any form of insult, provocation, personal attack, malicious mockery, or discrimination (including but not limited to race, gender, religion, region, etc.) is not allowed. We encourage rational discussion and oppose meaningless arguments.

When staff members are acting in their capacity as site management (not referring to violations committed through alternate accounts, but rather situations where you are acting while bearing the title of "administrator"), they must remember that every word and action represents the Guanmiao Wiki Chinese staff team. Staff members must lead by example and follow site rules first.

Except when maintaining normal site operations, improving the site, carrying out staff duties, or speaking on behalf of the management team, staff members should not emphasize their administrator identity in their statements. When participating in normal social interactions or discussions on external platforms as an individual, they should avoid creating the impression that their words or actions represent the position of Guanmiao Wiki Chinese.

Violations of this rule will be punished depending on severity.

Rule One: Respect Others

As stated in Rule Zero, staff members must especially respect every site member and must not abuse the management tools available to them.

  1. Staff members must not delete pages created by others without justification, nor may they perform deletion actions based on personal preferences, disagreements, or other reasons unrelated to rule violations.
  2. Staff members must not arbitrarily alter, remove, or edit forum posts, nor distort the original meaning of another person's statements. If content must be modified or hidden due to violations, the reason must be clearly stated.
  3. Staff members must not remove user membership status without justification. Any banning action must be based on existing site rules and clear records of violations, and decisions must always involve multiple staff members.

Anyone who violates this rule will no longer be considered capable of serving as site staff. Once confirmed, their administrative permissions should be immediately revoked.

Rule Two: Presumption of Innocence

If1 this site has a rating system, please rate works objectively based on quality. Maliciously lowering ratings or organizing groups to manipulate ratings is prohibited. When commenting, focus on the work itself rather than the author.
All works on this site are fictional, but every author's effort deserves respect. Comments should remain polite. Constructive criticism is welcome, but maliciously degrading others, accusing plagiarism (without evidence), or reposting others' works without permission is prohibited.
You must be at least 15 years old to join. If someone under 15 is found to have joined the site, staff members have the right to immediately ban the account.

When making accusations of violations against site members, staff must follow the principle of presumption of innocence. Before sufficient investigation and clear evidence are available, members should be presumed innocent. Staff must not publicly accuse members of violations without sufficient evidence, nor replace factual evidence with personal judgment.

In such circumstances, the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim (including staff members), and the claim must meet a standard beyond reasonable doubt.

Rule Three: None of Your Business

Please do not disclose personal information on public pages (such as real names, home addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, etc.). Site administrators will never request user passwords without reason.
You only need to mention your age, reason for joining, and passcode in the application. Anything beyond that may result in your application being rejected.
Age: Your age. This site contains serious themes and discussions, and requires members to demonstrate the maturity expected of adults. Therefore, membership is restricted to users aged 15 or above.

The age information provided by users in membership applications is collected solely for reviewing applications and determining whether applicants meet the site's minimum age requirement. Its use is strictly limited to this purpose.

After obtaining such information through their review responsibilities, staff members have a duty to keep it confidential. They must not disclose or hint at a user's age, either publicly or privately, on or off the site. Staff members must not request additional private information from users.

Staff members who violate this confidentiality obligation will no longer be considered capable of serving as staff. If such violations result in the disclosure of personal information and cause consequences, they will be held strictly accountable.

Rule Four: None of My Business

The authority held by staff members is strictly limited to the internal operations of Guanmiao Wiki Chinese. Staff members must not interfere with the operations of other websites, platforms, or communities while acting as representatives of this site.

Staff members must not extend internal management actions beyond the site, move internal disputes to external platforms for escalation, or organize or encourage others to interfere with site matters across platforms.

Violations of this rule will be punished depending on severity.

Rule: Rules Are Meant to Be Broken

If you have a reasonable and appropriate reason to deviate from a rule, and you fully understand that you are deviating from it and are aware of the possible consequences, then proceed.

This rule is absolutely not a shield for staff abuse of power. Be prepared to be questioned, and accept responsibility for the consequences.

Rules are rigid; people are flexible.
